Its been a long and winding road...

Just a quick update about the John Lennon DVD ("A Lennon Pastiche") and about the forthcoming new book!

Yes, I have undertaken to design a new book.  Since we went to print with theoriginal 'john lennon: in your own write' - I have met many wonderful people, artists,  musicians, photographers, writers, fans and friends.  Not only those who had a special connection to John and do to this day, but others who have special talents which continue to pay homage to the man and the legend in many ways and in many mediums.

I am going to update the book.  It will most likely have a new title, a new cover and it will be initially available for download as an e-book.  I am very excited that it will be available for download also at the iTunes stores, as well as my own website, www.dearjohnlennon.com (which is also currently in need of an update) and which Jeff Lawrence, web designer extraordinaire will undertake.

I am also happy to announce that Deborah Perdue of Illumination graphics will be contributing her valuable work.

I know that some of you have been wondering why the film/DVD project is taking so long but John Schulte is doing his best to clear his schedule after what has been a very hectic winter.  This will go forward! The upside of the delay is that if you have video content to contribute (please email me at WriterMyst@aol.com) you now have a second chance.

Also, please observe, I am updating my various blogging sites (its a full-time job in itself!) while attending to learning more about the publishing and production process, as well as studying the wild and crazy world of the ever changing and growing Internet!

Thank you for all your support.  You can also follow me on Tweeter and several other sites.  There is a means by which all the content can be available to you at the same time.  I am still exploring this, so I appreciate your patiece!

Reviews are coming in!

I wish to thank all my wonderful Facebook friends, fans for sharing their review on Amazon.com, honestly!

It is a real pleasure for me to be able to send out the PDFs (e-book) free to anyone who wishes to review my book.  This offer stands (until - who knows - maybe forever?).  Or until the book is available on iBooks!

I am learning about computing, the Internet, blogging and Social Networking.  This has been a real challenge for me and a learning experience.  I am self-taught, so its all trial-by-error, and believe me, I have made my share of mistakes.  However, as the old saying goes, 'if you don't try...'

I feel like 'Alice in Wonderland,' sometimes, but its all good!

A new beginning....

I discovered a new site, AboutMe.com.  It is very user friendly.  It allows you to create a short bio and pick out a theme and there is lots of options and ways to use the blog.

I didn't want to just limit my blog to entries about my book, 'john lennon: in their own write.'  After all, I do other writing, and I paint and enjoy photography.  I have many interests: too many, sometimes I think!

I would like to be able to share my ongoing exploration into the arts and social networking as I go along.  A new journey, a new beginning.  With links to the past, literally and figuratively.

To allow you to learn, to share, to advance your own artistic vision, creative ideas.  Whatever you are into.  I find the Internet to be tremendously enabling.  Sometimes, it is a distraction, but I can't tell you how many times I turned to it for research, ideas and interaction with people I would otherwise have never met.

This is a whole subtopic in itself.  "The Internet:  The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly.  Lol."  I think adding the LOL, at the end clearly denotes a whole new world.  After all, just yesterday, I heard that LOL (and other words we have recently come to use due to the Internet) are being included in the Oxford Dictionary.  It is not going 'away,' anytime, soon!  If we use it for good, it can be very, very good.  Like anything else.  It is a new frontier and we must establish its boundaries.

I find it very fulfilling to write and be read, instantly.  Of course, this does not mean that I will stop writing fiction that needs revision - or many revision.  This is just one outlet for me.  Another medium.  I really do believe, like McLuhan, that the MEDIUM IS THE MESSAGE.  That keeps cropping up, almost everywhere I look, these days.  McLuhan was brilliant and prophetic in creating that phrase.  More than ever - the medium is the message.

I hope you will join me on my new adventures.  Wherever they may lead.  I have not put limitations on the subjects I will explore.  I would like this blog to be like a daily journal; private and public.  Yet, neither so private as to become opaque.  Nor so public, as to give me pause about my own boundaries of privacy.

This week was devoted to my seeking reviewers for my book, 'john lennon: in their own write.'  I gave out free, digital files of my book, hoping this would be incentive enough for people to want to write up honest and frank reviews.  It was not as easy as that.  But, I surely appreciate those friends who made the commitment and followed through.  It maybe that people are just a little afraid to write what they think.  I say, go for it.  Reviews need to be 'mixed' and honest - and from the heart.  I made it clear that I wanted feedback.  Including, what's good and what needs improvement.

I am taking a break to think about this.  I am sure many more reviews are on the way.  People just need to ponder what it is they really want to say.  It is a process that cannot be rushed.

More, later!
